Travel Club Twilight Trotts

What a fun evening we had. To start the evening we stopped over at Mirambeena Regional Park where we all enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea. It is such a pretty spot overlooking the water. Friends mingled together and had a chat, while others went for a walk down to the water. We re-joined the coach where Ken (the coach captain) gave everyone a idea on the proceedings for the evening. Did we tell you that Race 1 was called the Pegasus Coach Tours Travel Club Dash ….and did we tell you that you are the starters… everyone had a laugh …..and hoped that Ken was joking ! We arrived at the Bankstown Paceway to begin our evening and what a lovely night it was. Although it was overcast the weather was lovely and the rain kept away. Everyone settled down, got their race forms, some studied them, others didn’t, bets were placed. We enjoyed a delicious meal and before and between our meals and in-between the races we were entertained by the entertainers from the Burning Log Theatre Restaurant. The music was enjoyed by all singing and clapping along. Then the serious part of the evening the pacers. It had been a long time since a lot of the people had enjoyed going to the trotts and most had fond memories of Harold Park in it’s day. Some people had a small bet, some people just chose to watch the pacers do their thing. Some people won with their bets Lyn to mention one, some lost the whole 5 races that we stayed for I won’t mention any names here Ken. It was a lovely magical evening that I am sure will hold in everyone’s mind for time to come.
